Singh-Ray used my blog story

I sent Singh-Ray some images form my workshop in November and they asked me to give a short story to go along with it. Singh-Ray makes high quality specialty filters that enhance image color and  help create unique lighting abilities, allowing you to create amazing images. So I was very happy to be mentioned on there blog and share images from my trip. 2012 Phoenix Rock N Roll Marathon

I have finally gone through the 4300+ images I captured at the Phoenix Rock N Roll Marathon. Reduced it down to a mere 1320 images. This event was quite different for me, I rode on the back of a motorcycle for the entire race course. Although it was not as difficult as the runners race, I was incredibly sore from twisting into a position to be able to capture the images as I wanted them. Not having the same flexibility or movement as I usually have proved quite challenging and really affected the quality of my shots. I will buy a helmet with a much larger opening if this becomes a regular occurrence....

Aloft Wine Bottle Photo Shoot

Back in September I was hired to photograph a wine bottle and it's packaging by my friends at Canyon Creative. The new design had not been released so I was unable to share my work with you until now.       Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / vegaskevin.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Ledcor Construction Project

I recently photographed a new project for Ledcor Construction Las Vegas, NV. Upon my arrival I was surprised as to the size of such a facility. I had no idea there was a market for anything like this facility. This is a very large auction house where they sell heavy equipment, this place was very cool. There is even a VIP lounge that looks over the entire auction floor. It's kind of like a sky box at an NFL Football game. That part of the job was not ready for me to photograph, but it was very state of the art.   I strategically arrived at the facility in late afternoon so I could catch...

2012 Running from an Angel

My wife asked me if I would come to a local race and photograph her with the beautiful desert and lake scenery. I usually catch her at the Competitor Series Marathons, but most are in the city and I never know when or where I'll find her. So having to get up early and hang out with a bunch of super happy people isn't so bad. Runners are some of the happiest people I have ever met, at 5am they are always smiling and waving at the camera. So this was a rather late starting race and my wife was the star of the show. However I did manage to capture many others who were running close to her time frame...

Lighting Workshop With Some Friends

Playing around with a couple of new toys and wanting to work on some new techniques, a couple of my photography friends Quincy Nelson and Kittrell Cage came by and we had a private lighting workshop. We just wanted to see how much color effect we could get out of some simple gels, test out my buddy's new ring light and my new beauty dish. So we were trying several combinations of gels , lights and weather or not adding power increased the color that was added to the backdrop. Power and distance played a much larger role than you might imagine. The amount of color varies a great amount depending...

Winter Wonderland Party – Venetian Hotel Casino Las Vegas

I was hired by a new client to photograph an event setup at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas this week. I had never shot this type of event, but I knew I could pull it off as I love working with low light photography. This client had previously had photography of his work from another photographer, however now he wanted  panoramas of the room. This is right up my alley since I love panorama photography. I did other work while I was there, but the panos were the big deal for me. After shooting the room the client asked me if I could stick around and photograph the entertainers that were hired for the party...

Red Rock National Park – Storm Panorama

I love this time of year when the sky's get very moody and the storms roll thru. I was watching the news and the weather person said there was a good chance for storms, soon after my buddy and fellow photographer Quincy Nelson called and asked what I was up to. We made plans to get out and photograph the Red Rock area later in the day. On my way out the sky looked very bland and just grey, I almost called it off but thought I didn't have any reason not to go so I proceeded onward. We arrived to a very impressive storm that was building and there was some light peeking from under the clouds. I told...

2011 Las Vegas Rock-N-Roll Marathon

Another year has passed and the Competitor / Rock-N-Roll Marathon made it's night time debut here in Las Vegas. I have covered several of these marathons here in Vegas and I was fearing the weather would be absolutely freezing. I was all geared up for bad weather and to my surprise the weather was quite nice. It did start raining late into the race, however my work was done by then and I was glad to be walking in just as the rain began. There was a record turn out with over 44,000 racers. It was everything you would expect for a Las Vegas event, there were showgirls, caged tigers and Elvis was there...

Wild West Photography Workshop

I've been talking with a few people about offering a photography workshop next fall and hopefully more to follow. I mentioned the idea to a fellow photographer and we both agreed it would be a fun trip with or without camera equipment. Fortunately we both brought our gear and captured some amazing images. We set out across I-40 and then down to Sedona Arizona. Unfortunately we were given some bad directions and nearly missed the sunset. If were not for amazing low light capabilities of our Nikon equipment we might not have captured anything worth posting. When we started walking back to the truck...

2011 St. Louis Rock-n-Roll Marathon

I just returned from the 2011 St Louis Rock-n-Roll Marathon. It was a very fast paced trip. I landed just after 2:30pm, headed straight for the convention center to grab my credentials and walked several miles of the course to pick some good spots for the next day. Had a bite to eat and had to setup my gear for the early start at 7:30. I was up at 6:00 am (4:00am my time - ouch) and was out the door looking for the best light. In only a few minutes the racers rounded the corner and I went into battle mode. I never really talk about it, but trying to cross the track with 20,000 +/- racers is quite...

Springs Preserve Haunted House

2011 Denver Rock-N-Roll Marathon

Here are a few of my favorites images from the Competitor Group 2011 Denver Rock N Roll Marathon.   Smash Mouth was the headline act at the finish line. There are a few cool shots at the bottom of the page.   When I arrived at the airport on Saturday it was raining, along with snow flurries. I figured this was going to be a terrible event with so much weather. However a few hours later the skies cleared and everything began to look good. I planned out my strategy for the race, and figured when and where I needed to be for the shots. My goal this trip was not to focus on a specific...

Colorado Vacation Photography

So this year we as a family went to Colorado for our family vacation. We really enjoyed the beauty of the lush landscape, and the people were very kind and helpful when we asked for any sort of help. The landscape of Colorado is stunning just about anywhere you visit. We did not get too far off the trail, as a family it is much harder than when I am on assignment. These photos were taken within 1/2 mile of the car at the most. So if you are looking for a great photo opportunity, don't feel that you need to get too adventurous.   Send me a message if you have any questions about where...

Lake Las Vegas End of Summer Fireworks

Here are some cool firework photos I captured at Lake Las Vegas tonight (End of summer - wierd but cool). I was told by my wife at 7:30 pm that Lake Las Vegas was having a fireworks display tonight at 8:30pm. She said it was due to the fact they didn't have a successful event on the 4th of July. So we jumped in the truck and got caught up in all the traffic. Just as I set my camera on the tripod the fireworks began. Here is what I captured.   I hope you enjoy these! vegaskevin                 Written...

My Beautiful Wife – Part 2

So as I mentioned before my wife want to make a calendar for me so I will remember when she looked this good, so we went to another place and captured some new images. Here are the images from Red Rock National Park. I like the feel of these images, reminds me of spring time, however these were taken in late August.         Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / vegaskevin.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

My Beautiful Wife

So my wife has been asking me when I was going to take some studio photos of her. Until now I have never taken any amazing photos of her because I have a hard time thinking creatively with family photos. I have always been lame when it came to any photos of my family, I guess I don't think about how I would approach the shoot. So my wife has come up with a list of photos she wants to use and create a calendar for me. With that said here is the first series of photos we captured a couple of days ago. I am happy to say these came out great, I just needed a nudge in the right direction to get this...

Infant Photography Session

Today I snapped a few great images of my friends baby girl. She was a very sweet baby and only cried when she was hungry. Lucky for me she liked my goatee and smiled and laughed for me. We worked around her schedule and photographed her sitting while she was awake and laying down when she had enough. I turned the lights down so she didn't get too large of a blast from my strobes. But you could tell when she was affected as she squinted her already closed eyes every time it got a tad too bright for her. I really like getting down at the same level as the child, it makes the image much more intimate...

Las Vegas Panorama Photos

Las Vegas Fireworks 2011

Not many casinos in Vegas have a fireworks show these days. Thankfully to Station Casinos and several individuals I was able to deliver a pretty cool image from this years fireworks. Here is a panorama of the 2011 Las Vegas fireworks. Photo details: 7 portrait images stitched together, 6 sec at f/9, ISO 200 using a 70-200 zoomed at 200mm. I used a tripod with a pano head and cable release.   Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / vegaskevin.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Seattle Washington Panorama Photography

I have really fallen in love with the great northwest region. I had never been there until 2 years ago, and now it calls out to me. I find myself thinking about all the different ways to photograph it and the beauty that it offers to everyone, however many people walk right by and never see the beauty it displays. The beauty comes from both nature and those that choose to embrace it with kindness and sharing passion for displaying this beauty. Many things go without being replaced often in this region. These flaws add character and somehow the citizens understand that this add to the experience...

2011 Seattle Marathon

So it was off to the great north west for me this past week, I had yet another marathon to cover for Competitor Group. This was an exhausting week of trekking around Seattle Washington. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time, but I was on the go 15-18 hours every day. I have lots of great images to share, there are 3 links in this post. One of the highlights for me was to capture Mt. Rainier in my panoramas of Seattle. From what I was told, Rainier is only visible for roughly 30 days a year. I don't know how true that is, but I was glad it was visible the second night I went to capture a panorama...

Las Vegas, Nevada Sunset Panorama

I was invited by a friend to be part of a photography group on Facebook.com a couple of weeks ago. So the first assignment I was able to take part in was themed 10 minutes from home. And I am always looking for great shots of Las Vegas so I knew of a spot that would fit the theme. So I decided to go big and take a panorama of Las Vegas, but not just any panorama. I used a super telephoto 300mm with a 2x teleconverter. Normally for a panorama most photographers would take a wide angle lens and snap a photo. I however wanted a much more detailed image so that is why I chose the 300mm with the 2x teleconverter....

Flower Photography

I always stop and look at beautiful flowers when I am out capturing images. I am generally standing in the middle of or over them while photographing a beautiful scene or gorgeous model. However we as people see them and almost never stop to appreciate them until they are in a photograph. I do however stop to take photos of them whenever possible.   Here are a few tips to help get better images of flowers: 1) Try not to shoot down on them,  shoot from the side or looking up at flowers. 2) Direct light does not look as good as diffused light. Try capturing in the shade or use a diffuser. 3)...

2011 San Diego Marathon

I just got back from photographing the 2011 Competitor.com San Diego Marathon. It was a beautiful weekend and I met a bunch of great people along the way. I was able to capture some great images as well. While scouting out my route for where I would capture my images I stopped a San Diego Police Officer and asked him my best route. It turned out he was an avid photographer and had some great suggestions for my route and some locations to stop at that I was unaware of. I also stopped into a great shop in downtown San Diego and met Jason at 5&A Dime, this is a cool shop that sells hats, shirts...

4th of July Fireworks Photography

If you have ever seen a fireworks show in person then you know just how awesome it can be. I have photographed a few different firework shows and they each presented some different challenges. I always see someone who tries to capture them with there cell phone or pocket camera. This isn't impossible, but the results are generally not that good.   You need to follow a few simple rules: Your camera need to be mounted on a tripod or very steady surface You need a slower shutter speed Low ISO value (so the image quality isn't noisy with mis-colored pixels) Practice   Here...

2011 Mad Mud Run – Las vegas

Here are the photos I took at the 2011 Mad Mud Run in Las Vegas, Nevada. My wife and several of her friends ran in this very entertaining event. There were people swan diving into the mud pit at the finish line! This was a fun event to watch and photograph. I have digital files available for sale or just to browse. Plus a few photos of the craziest dog ever! Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / favoto.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Composition – leave it or not?

I think the most difficult thing for me when composing an image is what to leave or to ignore. I never want to get back from a shoot and say "I wish I had just left _____ in the shot". I usually shoot all my subjects from many angles, both wide and tight. However there are some things you just need to leave out of a shot. For instance a building with a parking garage on the side, the garage is an eye sore no matter how nice it is. I was at a hotel one day and there was a Ferarri in the parking lot, when I got ready to take a shot I noticed the car was damaged on the far corner. So rather than miss...

ElDorado Canyon – Photo Shoot

Nevada Panorama Photography

Here are a couple of panoramas taken along the road on my return from Yosemite.     This was just before I-6 meets I-95 in Nevada.   This last image is from the Valley of fire just north of Las Vegas. Yosemite National Park

This year I decided to revisit Yosemite Nat Park, the timing could not have been better. The weather was perfect and the number of visitors was relatively low. This gave me much more freedom while photographing the park. I will say that after 10am or so the traffic was dramatically increased, however my work was winding down as the traffic was increasing, so I was not too affected by the increase. The temp hovered around 70 all day, and it was great. We were going to stay in the park until I saw a video showing a bear destroying a car to get at food that was left in the car. I was not going to risk...

Ghost Town Photography

One day we were out scouting for a location to take some images and stumbled across this great abandon building in the middle of a field. Because it was in the middle of an area that was uninhabited and unmarked, we felt is was safe to photograph this building. We have been to places that had notices posted that there is no trespassing or that arrangements needed to be acquired before entering. So I always recommend you follow any posted signage to avoid being prosecuted for breaking the law. Plus if you disobey they rules of the owner you will most likely not be allowed to return.   I...

Luxury Home Magazine

I was asked to photograph some really amazing houses for Century 21 recently. I had no idea what to expect until I arrived at the first home. It looked like a hotel on the outside and like a marble wonderland on the inside. This 1st home was 21,000sq ft, and no that isn't a typo, it was huge. I lost count of the number of rooms, but there were a few highlights I have to mention. 1st: I had to take a panorama of the kitchen to fit everything in the shot! 2nd: There is a full size racquet ball court inside! Plus it converts into a basketball court with the flip of a switch. 3rd: A full blown theater...

Pet Photography

I find pet photography very difficult unless the animal has a trainer and has worked with a photographer in the past. By nature pets are skittish about all the overhanging equipment or so many things that need to be explored. If possible I try to photograph pet in there own home or environment so the distractions are minimized. When I point my lens at a dog it usually results in 2 things, the ears drop back or the dog lunges in the direction of camera to see whats going on. Through my experience I find working with the owner or trainer to focus attention just over my shoulder works best. In some...

Aviation Nation – Air Show – Nellis AFB

Every Year I head out to photograph an amazing event known as Aviation Nation. Located on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV, this air show is free to the public and is fantastic. It is fun to show up and people watch, but if you like planes and excitement then your eyes need to be focused on the sky. The accuracy of the Thunderbird's and the aerobatic stuns they perform are amazing! I can't imagine pulling off the stunts in a video game let alone real life, but these guys make it look easy. Photographing them is not all that hard because they move with professional grace and never miss a mark,...

Dramatic Low Key Lighting

This example of high contrast photography illustrates how you can isolate your subject and hold the focus to the desired area with a very simple lighting setup. In this image the subject is isolated against the solid black background. By only lighting the one side of the subject it pulls your focus to the main area and draws your attention to the subject matter. For this setup we used a main light just to the right of the subject and a hair light to separate the subject from the backdrop. By using the technique it draws no attention to anything but the subject. What you don't see in this image...

Macro Photography

I love macro photography, especially when the subject is so different that nobody can guess what it is. Here is a photo that I took with a macro lens and whenever I ask what it is people say rabbit pellets. This was taken on my desk in my office and is not much bigger than mechanical pencil lead in diameter. The depth is roughly 1/8" deep and covers about 1 inch square. Macro photograph usually has a very shallow depth of field, even at f/22. The depth of field in this image is very shallow and this 5x macro was taken with a setting of f/14 and the lens was about 2 inches from the subject.     For...

Sedona Arizona Photography

Last year I took my wife with me to Sedona Arizona during the fall colors at the end of October. The night we arrived it was very stormy, and when we woke up the next morning it was still stormy. Unsure of what the day would bring we headed out into the giant sea of clouds and fog. After about 45 minutes the skies parted and the sun started beaming through the scattered clouds creating an awesome sky for taking photos. These are my favorite images from that trip.     Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / vegaskevin.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Compelling images sell your product

I took this image of a Ruger LCP one day after my buddy's attempt to sell it with a standard pocket camera image. He was getting no where with the simple image he had taken in the first place. He didn't think it would matter as it was only a small pocket pistol and the buyer would surely buy it because it was a desired gun. He tried selling this gun for 3 weeks and kept getting low-ball offers. I told him to bring it over and we could get a great shot that would help him sell his gun. We took this image in the morning and he posted the new image just after lunch. Needless to say the gun was sold...

Motocross / Supercross in my blood

One of my first photographs I ever had framed was this image of a motocross racer. This images was taken at the Las vegas World Mini at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This was a very cool race to cover and because it was in my own backyard made it even better. For me it was better because I was able to sleep in my own bed every night, where most guy are sleeping in there trailer or a hotel room. I think that is why i had so much fun being there all day, several days in a row. This is a cool panning shot, and what I like best about it is the FMF tuff block is the same color as the yellow Suzuki motorcycle.       I...

UNLV Womens Soccer

These images were taken on the back field at UNLV in what many photographers would say is horrible lighting conditions. Luckily for me I own the Nikon D3s and it is an amazing camera. I was using an ISO of 12,800, and you did read this correctly.  My results were amazing and I can't speak highly enough about the capabilities of the Nikon D3s.     Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / favfoto.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Flashlight Photography

There are so many way to use flashlight photography. This is my first try, and my experience is that you can use a flashlight to create so many different results. This shot of my 2006 VW GTI is a composite of 2 images. The background image was taken about 5 years ago with my Nikon D100 and the Car was shot with a Canon 5D MkII. The best part about this image is that the car was illuminated was a flashlight for approximately 5 min in complete darkness. I had to keep my light from exposing the interior or it would have ruined the feel of the image. To find the edges of the car I had to back-light...

PhotoShop Sharpening Tip

PhotoShop Sharpening Tip In the March 2010 issue of Popular Photography There is a great article on how to sharpen a digital photo using Photoshop. The Article is on page 38. Without typing the entire article, here is a brief rundown. 1) Duplicate the layer 2) Desaturate the duplicated layer 3) Go to the filter menu and under “Other” select High Pass. (Set the value between 0 - 5) 4) Use the pulldown menu on the Layers tab and switch from Normal to Overlay 5) Choosing the Hard Light will take the effect up a notch. ADOBE LightRoom 3

Until now I had never used Lightroom for anything useful. My buddy is a PhotoShop Master and uses both Photoshop and Lightroom for editing photos daily for a few magazines. He kept telling me I needed to use Lightroom, it would make life easier and I kept blowing him off. Well he was right, If you want to batch edit photos, color correct, remove image noise or just straighten or crop an image. You can do all or any of these very rapidly and mostly with keyboard shortcuts. It makes it simple to add meta data, or copyright info as well. I should have listened much sooner, I would have paid for this...

Cokin Filters

Here is a shot of some Cokin Filters. These are filter that you slide into an adapter on the front of your lens. They come in a variety of sizes and densities. You can get filters that distort the image or change colors. The filters shown here are neutral density and warming filters. The neutral density filters allow you to tame the light and give a longer shutter speed. This would be beneficial if you were shooting a water scene and the light is too bright to keep a shallow depth of field. There are many other uses, but that is the best simple explanation I can give.   The...

Panorama Images (Multi Shot)

I have really taken a liking to panorama photography. After learning a few new tricks I have become much better at capturing the photos I envision.   1st) You must use a tripod and it must be level. 2nd) Frame shots in portrait, it gives you more of the scene if cropping is necessary 3rd) Make sure you have enough image in each frame for good overlap 4th) Use a program like Photoshop to assemble the multiple shots 5th) Crop the best part (if any cropping is needed) Notes: If you have an L-Bracket it makes it much easier to shoot in portrait mode, using the L-Bracket keeps the weight...

Vintage Stuff

Is it just me or is there something special about vintage cars or vintage anything? I can look at an old car and it makes me think of what it must have been like when these things were new. Just think of how you feel when you open a new gadget and how you feel so great about it for 5 minutes before something else enters your thoughts. When a vintage car or gadget was made there was not nearly as many things to snap your attention away from that great item. I bet people kept that feeling much longer back then because they weren't buying so many things so often. I think we consider that new item...

2010 Endurocross – Las Vegas, Nevada

I was invited again to cover the 2010 Las Vegas EnduroCross. This is a feature rich race with so many obstacles its crazy. There are huge boulders and log jumps, water hazards and gigantic tire jumps. Crashes are to be expected with the number of obstacles. I have seen many crashes, some right in front of me, and very few injuries. This is a very tough race and the winner is very deserving!     Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / favfoto.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Devo Concert at Crown, Las Vegas

As a kid I saw Devo , it was one of my first concerts. When I was asked to cover the event this year I was kind of taken back. It's kind of like a day dream when you think about your childhood and think about things that happened over 20 years ago. Even though I am a grown man it felt almost child like as I thought about photographing one of the first bands I have ever seen on stage. There music and show has changed, however the experience felt almost the same. It was a great show in a small venue, but was much more to me. And to get to be on the stage running around with a camera was especially...

Water Drop Photography

Here are some things that work for me. 1) Camera and water dropper mounted steady. Camera on tripod, dropper on second tripod or something that wont move. I find the dropper about 18-24" off the water really works best. 2) I use an ink refill syringe with the refill needle make the best size drops. 3) Use a white background, and gel the flash what color you want the water to illuminate with. I use 1-2 flashes. 4) Shoot across the water, don't shoot down on the splash it doesn't look as nice. 5) If possible have a friend drop the water so you can focus on the shutter . I shoot directly...

HDR Photography & Software

I use a program called Photomatix Pro for my HDR images. If you have ever taken a photo and there is a part of the photo that is all white or completely dark and you wished you were able to see that part of the image, then HDR photography might be for you. HDR offers more than just high and low light data, it also allows you to make an image look somewhat like a cartoon or Sci Fi effect. I like HDR for interior shots that have dark areas or windows with too much light entering. I have seen it used in very creative ways in a book I am reading called Practical HDR by David Nightingale. HDR...

Wedding Photography

Rather than shooting a wedding and gathering photos of a group of people, I have started to make weddings something of a creative photo shoot. I used to dread a call to do a typical wedding. Thanks to my buddy Jason, he taught me how to make creative images out of a once dreaded request. I start out a conversation with a client by saying I am glad to be there photographer if they are willing to shoot with my style of photography. That style is mostly going to include your standard images, but I add that we must be able to include some creative twists and humor to some of the additional images taken....

vegaskevin stock photography

I have thousands of images that can be used for stock art. If you have a need for a particular type of image please send me a request. I will be glad to let you know if I have anything that might work for you. I work with several art directors and provide both licensed and unlicensed images depending upon the use of each image. Plus if you like my work, I might be interested in adding that type of work to my collection as well.   Please don't hesitate to ask, the worst thing that can happen is we can't help you. You might be surprised that I already have something you can use.   Have...

Details Make The Image

This shot of a USAF fighter jet from the Nellis AFB, Aviation Nation Air Show is a great example of how the details are the most important part of the image. The image is missing about 75% of the plane in the photograph, but immediately upon seeing it you are drawn into the cockpit along with the pilot and co-pilot. The missing information is irrelevant, but what is there really sells the image. The detail in the blurred background also tells a story that the plane is moving and the fact that the cockpit is closed tells you they are just beginning or ending there flight. This is one of my favorite...

Pocket Camera’s – Don’t count them out!

I was on vacation a while back and did not have my usual plethora of gear with me. When I realized I should have brought my gear I began to doubt the quality of my pocket camera. I actually felt like buying a new camera just so I didn't miss anything. After the look received from my wife for asking such a question I quickly realized it was going to be the pocket camera or the hospital. Pocket cameras don't have all the features or ease of use as my DSLR, but used correctly they can produce some incredible images. This image of the US Capitol in Washington, DC was not easy to capture but looks very...

Low Light Sports Photography

Many years ago I was shooting the local ABA basketball team "The Las Vegas Rattlers". They played on a portable court in a dimly lit arena, this was a challenging venue to photograph. With the fast pace of basketball and poor light I was constantly getting blurry images. With the new cameras that are available today this would have been much less of a problem, but back then I used a Nikon D100 which didn't offer good low light compensation. To overcome the low light problem most photographers would add a flash, however this was not allowed as it was too distracting to the players. The flash was much...

Panning Photography

Panning photography is one of the best ways to demonstrate action in a photograph. You can make a slow moving object look as if it was traveling very fast, or just add a slight amount of movement to even ordinary subjects. For instance, I was hired as a photographer for a birthday party and after about 1 hour I was growing tired of the same subjects again and again. So I began panning with a couple of the guests and the slight movement of a hand or even the entire person really woke up the image.   In the sample image I have here, Ronnie Goodwin was riding his brand new Kawasaki KX80...

Firearm Photography

I have been an avid firearm owner for many years, I was a competitive shooter when I was a much younger man. I always loved the way the images in the magazine made the craftsmanship of the firearm look, very rugged and powerful. Over the years I have developed my skills and even had a few of my imaged used for some firearm ads. Here is an image of one of my favorite rifles. This is a AR based M4, the caliber is 9mm SBR and has a Gemtech Supressor. The lower is made by POF, and this bad boy has many extras. When I decided to photograph it I wanted to show just how I felt about this piece of equipment....

Go Ped Racing

I was asked to photograph a GoPed race by a friend one day, I reluctantly agreed thinking it would be a lame race to photograph. Man was I wrong, this was a very exciting race to watch let alone photograph. These guys were amazing and the jumps were huge. I had no idea this was such a cool racing event with so much competition. The freestyle guys can even pull off a back-flip and at a height of about 20 feet in the air.     Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson /favfoto.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666

Super Bike Racing – LVMS

While I was out taking photos of a Ronnie Goodwin (Motocross Racer) one day I stumbled across a Superbike race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Considering I didn't have credentials I think these shots look good for being on the outside of the track.     Written by Photographer Kevin Thompson / favfoto.com Contact us at: (702) 204-5666
